Stratocumulus stratiformis virga

These are different views of Stratocumulus stratiformis virga. Some images clearly show falling stripes deriving from evaporating precipitation. The stripes are especially distinct in ScVirga6.jpg and ScVirga7.jpg, since there the descending sun was low enough to illuminate only the "virga".

The specification "virga" is adequate, because the precipitation does not reach the ground. Otherwise the term "praecipitatio" had to be used.
