Rainbow - Series II

In this time series a "rainshaft" is shown which occurred under the same meteorogical conditions and at the same place as the one described in chapter Rainshaft one day later. At 14 December the event could be observed one hour later than at 15 December 2004 and the rainbow was much more intense. The sequence that was recorded during a period of 5 minutes demonstrates the variability of the rainbow especially close to the ocean's surface.

In chapter Rainbow Series I the optical characteristics and further aspects related to rainbows are summarized. During the field campaign rainshafts with rainbows could be seen almost each day above the sea near Luquillo.
